Today Committee to Benefit the Children provides direct financial assistance with non-medical, essential expenses not covered by other agencies. CBC pays for rent/mortgage, utility and phone bills, car insurance and payments, meal vouchers, parking and transportation, prosthetics and wigs, child care, counseling and referral services, snacks and toys during treatment, other family living expenses, and funerals.

CBC works closely with the social workers in the Oncology and Hematology units at St. Christopher’s Hospital. The social workers know these children and their families and can identify specific areas of need on a case-by-case basis. Requests are reviewed and decisions are made almost immediately. All bills are paid directly to the company with no cash exchange.

In addition to financial assistance, CBC provides emotional support through fun activities such as pumpkin patch, family adventures, patient and sibling camps and many other activities and events. This allows our patients to take the focus off of their disease and build memories year after year.
